Catalyst Grant to SCANs
Catalyst awards £20,000 to new charity for children
SCANS, the Society for Children Affected by Neurological Symptoms, is planning to transform part of the Wivenhoe Town Football Club into a centre for disabled children.
The Colchester Catalyst Charity has provided £20,000 in funding for SCANS to bring its vision to life of helping children's with disabilities feel more independent.
The charity is run by Jayne Marshall, Donna Sawyer and John Hitches. It also has a team of 30 staff and volunteers available to help build the centre for the children. It has future plans to include a physiotherapy centre, hydroptherapy pool, soft play area, gym and a 25-metre public pool.
